Abstract

This research aims to identify the factors that influence the learning difficulties of grade 5 students at SDTQ Anak Sholih Tanah Grogot in identifying the main idea of ​​a paragraph, as well as evaluating how much these difficulties affect their reading comprehension. This study also assesses the effectiveness of the teaching methods used by teachers in helping students overcome these difficulties, and identifies the challenges faced in their implementation. The method used was a descriptive survey, data was collected through questionnaires given to students who scored below the KKM 75 and B. Indonesian teachers. The results showed that the frequency and level of difficulty in finding the main idea of ​​a paragraph varied significantly among students, with several main factors such as language complexity and text length being the main causes of difficulty. In addition, teaching methods such as class discussions and the use of graphs or diagrams are considered effective by teachers, despite challenges such as lack of time and varying student abilities. This research concludes that a holistic and interactive learning approach is very important in overcoming student learning difficulties, and provides recommendations for the development of more effective teacher training programs and education policies.
