Abstract

Abstract : This study examines the strategic role of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) in internalizing the values of religious moderation among students. Amidst the challenges of social polarization, religious moderation is a crucial concept for maintaining harmony. Although PJOK traditionally focuses on physical development, this study examines it from a sociological perspective, where the sports field serves as a dynamic social laboratory. This research used a qualitative approach with a case study method in a multicultural school. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results show that PJOK effectively creates a space for equal interaction, where primordial barriers dissolve and students learn to work together regardless of differences. The concept of sportsmanship proves to be a concrete manifestation of the values of fairness and empathy, training students to respect opponents and control their emotions. Furthermore, the role of PJOK teachers as moderating agents is crucial in facilitating this process, through strategies such as diverse team formation and reflective discussions. Thus, Physical Education (PJOK) plays a role beyond mere physical education, but rather as a crucial pillar in shaping students' tolerant, just, and balanced character.
