Abstract

The government has a program called the School Literacy Movement (GLS) which was developed based on the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation no. 23 of 2015 concerning fostering student interest in reading and improving skills in reading so that they are able to master science and have noble character. Efforts to improve students' literacy skills should be carried out as early as possible so that students' literacy competencies can increase. The purpose of this study was to identify and explain the planning, implementation, supporting and inhibiting factors of the literacy program at MI Wahid Hasyim 02 Dau. This study uses a qualitative research approach, namely the type of descriptive qualitative research. The results of research on the implementation of literacy programs in increasing student interest in reading at MI Wahid Hasyim 02 Dau indicate that (1) literacy program planning includes the availability of facilities and facilities for literacy programs, as well as the arrangement of a good literacy program, (2) the implementation of literacy programs includes enthusiastic students visiting libraries and reading corners as well as writing papers to fill out the mading, (3) the supporting factors for the literacy program include planning and implementing a good literacy program, while the inhibiting factor is the library space which is not wide enough, so that the number of students belonging to large classes is sometimes uncomfortable when reading. in library.
