Author Guidelines

Submission of Articles

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors who do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The paper must be original, never published in other publications or in the deep review process in other publications (The Attached Statement).
  2. A manuscript should be written in Indonesian or English and Arabic and be submitted online via The author must register or log in in order to make the submission. 
  3. The journals are produced on B5 paper. The page margins are 3 cm left, 2.5 cm on Top and 2.5 cm on Right, and 2.5 cm Bottom. Margins should be Fully Justified for the main text. If you are using a Mac, please be aware that these settings may be adjusted in unexpected ways.
  4. The paper should include a minimum of 12 pages, with single-spaced and justify.
  5. Using Cambria Font 12 pt and Traditional Arabic 16 if there Arabic contents.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  7. The references for the article are in the form of journals and non-journals which have been published in the last 10 years.
  8. Using Mic. Office 2013 or 2016 / open Office with the existence of RTF, not PDF.
  9. Content 
    1. The title should be less than 15 words, in title case, capitals, centered, bold. SHOULD HAVE ENGLISH TITLE or in Cambria script.
    2. Author name without a title, including the institution, and email. 
    3. The abstract length should be a minimum of 150 words and a maximum of 300 words; it should be confined to a single paragraph and contain neither pictures nor tables. 
    4. Keywords contain three to five words/phrases separated by a comma (;).

  1. The submission of a manuscript indicates that the paper has not been published in any other journal.
  2. All papers will be acknowledged and referred to.
  3. For reviewing purposes, the papers have to be prepared in the following manner :
    1. The paper should be written in Indonesian or English.
    2. The paper is in doc format.
    3. Single spacing is required.
    4. The number of pages is 12 to 25 letter paper.
    5. The margin is 2.5 cm of mirror margins to the left, right, top, and bottom of the paper.
    6. The font size for text is 12 point Cambria, except for the title, which is 14 point Cambria, and the abstract, which is 11 point italic Times New Roman.
    7. The pages are single columns.
    8. The names and e-mail addresses of the authors, as well as the author's affiliations and their addresses, should be written under the title.
    9. The abstract should be written in Indonesian and English but not more than 300 words. The keywords follow the abstract.
    10. The paper should contain the common sections used for computer science papers, like (for more detailed information please consult the authoring guideline) :

a) Introduction, which includes issues and problems to be solved, the study of related and relevant previous publications

b)Research method, which includes analysis, design, and implementation

c)Results and discussion, which includes experimental or simulation results and critical analysis of the experimental results.

d)Conclusions, which include the main findings

e) Future Works, this section is optional.

f) Acknowledgments, this section is optional. If exists, should be addressed to parties supporting the research such as institutions funding the research

g)References should be written using IEEE [with url] format.

The composition of the references used should consist of 60% of primary references (journals, proceedings) and a maximum of 40% of secondary references (textbooks) published in the last 5 years and each article should have at least ten references. All the served data or quotes in the article taken from the other author articles should attach the reference sources, the reference is written by IEEE (with URL) format system. Each reference cited is written using the number placed at the early or end of a sentence. Consistent use of the IEEE (with URL) system is required in the writing of reference. References are arranged in order of appearance in the text. It is advisable to use a software application to manage references and bibliography, both free applications(eg: Mendeley, Zotero, RefWorks) or paid applications (eg: Endnote, Reference Manager).

Guideline for Online Submission
The author should first register as an Author and be offered as a Reviewer through the following address: The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textboxes are filled, the Author clicks on the Register button to proceed with the registration. Therefore, the Author is brought to the online author submission interface where the Author should click on New Submission. In the Start, a New Submission section, click on Click Here: to go to step one of the five-step submission process. The following are five steps in the online submission process:

1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: The author must check marks on the submission checklists. An author should type or copy-paste the cover letter to Comments for the Editor.

2. Step 2 - Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click the "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded.
3. Step 3 - Entering Submissions Metadata: In this step, detailed author metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
4. Step 4 - Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary files should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter. Therefore, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.
5. Step 5 - Confirming the Submission: The author should finally check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to AL-MUDARRIS: Journal of Education, click the Finish Submission button after the documents are ready. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the progress of the submission through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.

After this submission, the Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of the manuscript review and editorial process. Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
